Sacrifice It!

Psalm 50:14 NIV "Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High"

Sacrifice thank offerings? Why would the Psalm advise us to sacrifice thank offerings to God?

During the time, this psalm was written to the 12 tribes of Israel, who were divided into two kingdoms and here this psalm of Asaph was written to try to urge them to reunite and come back to God. Its a reminder to start thanking God that he hasn't given up on you but also a reminder to do what we said we would for God.

We definitely need reminders.  Thanksgiving for most isn't something that is easily offered, especially during a time of division or feud. It's hard to be thankful when there is separation, war, or problems happening in your life.

Why can't we all just get along? Why must there be tension and division? Why? Why? Why? So many questions and complaints can be offered as sacrifices instead of thanksgiving.

God thank you that though there is division there is still hope for reuniting. Thank you that even though we may not be together we are all still alive and well.  As long as there is still breath in your body, there is still hope for your future and hope for reconciliation.

Now maybe in your life you may be experiencing some division, tension, or feud.  Don't waste your time on tears, questions, and complaints, but rather start learning how to be thankful that God is still on the throne and there is still hope!

He's not done with us!

We need to remind ourselves to be thankful in our lives as well as remind ourselves who we are!  "Christians" = Christ-Like! "Believers" = Believe! "Born Again" = Dead to old life! Because we have these titles on our life we need to remember that prayer of salvation we prayed unto God and fulfill our vows of not giving up! Continue to follow him and make the right choices for holy living.

Ultimately you're going to make your own decisions, but the result may just be that of division, tension, and feuds.  Don't allow  yourself to get there.  Remember to be thankful. Remember to keep your vow.

Make the right choice!

Thankfulness don't hold it back .... Sacrifice It!
