Shine Forward

Numbers 8:2 Give Aaron the following instructions: When you set up the
seven lamps in the lampstand, place them so their light shines forward
in front of the lampstand
.

Jesus is the light of the world and his light is placed in us.
Therefore, he is the lamp and we are the lampstand! So many lampstands
today are missing their lamp. There is no significance in being a
lampstand without a lamp. We would just be useless stands, but that is
not what we were created to be. We were created for a purpose in order
that His light may shine in us! Without Jesus we are not fulfilling our
created purpose.

It was at the time of salvation that this instruction to Aaron was
fulfilled. When we accept Jesus as our savior the "lamp" is placed in
us. Purpose has officially been made complete.

However, notice the instruction of how the light is to shine. Jesus, the
lamp, the light, is to shine forward. Why forward? Can it be a reminder
from Christ that he doesn't care about where we've been and what we've
done? The past is in sin. The past is in darkness. Behold, the lamp is
now in us and his light is shinning forward, as Jeremiah 29 states, to
give us a future and a hope! What's done is done! Stop trying to shed
light on the past;Jesus isn't.

Lastly notice that the light is not only shinning forward, but also in
front of the lampstand. When others turn to look at the lampstand all
they should be able to see is Jesus because He reigns in front. If the
lamp has been placed inside of us then let it shine forward and let go
of the past. Let the light shine in front of us and do not try to make a
name for yourself or be noticed. Let them see the light of Jesus

Fulfill your purpose and let your light shine forward!

  1. Good blog. Keep blogging. Even when you feel like no ones reading it or its not making a difference, it is. People may not comment or have some profound reaction but you are dropping bombs in their spiritual lives, little reminders of just how awesome God is in our everyday lives. Keep going!
