Watching You

Psalm 11:4 “But the Lord is in his holy Temple ; the Lord still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth.”

I once read a cartoon comic about an employee who was caught by his supervisor doing nothing.  When the supervisor asked why the employee wasn’t doing anything, the employee’s response was “because I didn’t know you were there”.  That is the way most Christians live their lives.  Christianity is about faith, believing in an invisible God.  However, because Christians can’t see God, the human instinct assumes he’s not there, he’s not watching.

Our minds assume that God is only present when we pray or when we go to church.  Presuming that God doesn’t see anything we do in secret or he’s too big and too busy to involve himself in our personal lives makes God into some type of genie that is only around when rubbed upon. We need to understand that he is Omni-Present, he’s always there and always watching.

Truth is, God watches everyone closely.  However, he’s not just watching in entertainment, he’s examining every person on earth.  The way we live our lives is not only being watched, but examined by God! Though he may be in his holy Temple and ruling from heaven, he is still very concerned with every person on earth’s personal lives.

If you’re a believer, start living a life like you believe God is real and really watching, examining, your life.  It’s funny because whenever a person knows that they are being watched by someone they value important, they tend to perform a whole lot faster and better.

Let’s value our God and know that he is watching you.
