"Common sense and success belong to me. Insight and strength are mine." Proverbs 8:14
Common Sense. Success. Insight. Strength. These are all things that we in our humanity think we possess on our own.
We credit ourselves for our potent or lack of common sense. We fight and strive and pursue success at any length. And don't get me started on our own opinions, the Bible even says "every way of a man is right in his own eyes" (Proverbs 21:2), but still in our humanity we will declare that our insight is prime. Lastly if you drive around your neighborhood and see how many gyms are posted up in your city because man believes his strength lies within his physique and capability to overpower another.
And why not? Everyday all day, all we see is ourselves. We feel our own feelings. We face our own problems. Nobody ever really knows how we feel or what we are going through. Sure people can presume they know, but they're not you! Therefore they can assume they know, but not definitely know how you feel. The result is we take matters into our own hands. We feel since nobody else knows I'm the only one that can deal with it and we claim all rights to the solutions of our lives.
Now tell me this, if you had some type of appliance or machinery that started giving you warnings of some type of problem, let's say a car since they usually give you warning lights when something is going on. See we can presume we know what is wrong. We can even go to friends and ask them what they think and get so many solutions. They're giving us their common sense of the issue. You want your car to succeed in transportation so you do what you think you have to. You get the oil changed, got a tune up, did everything you thought of. Your insight on cars was of sure brilliance, but something was still wrong. You take it to a mechanic, but even then what does a mechanic refer you to once they tried all their common sense, success of the matter, insight and strength?
They go to the Owners Manual! You see only the Maker of that product can give us a sure definite answer as to what is happening with the product they created! The car doesn't take issues into itself. A car can't fix itself. If something is going completely wrong with a product you take it back to the manufacturer because they created it and need to fix the issue!
We too are CREATED BEINGS! We have a creator and is the source of Common Sense! He is the source of Success! He is the source of Insight! He is the source of Strength! If you just keep on functioning as you were Created to be, then when a problem comes the Creator, the Maker, the Manufacturer will come in and help us with what we need! Whether its common sense, success, insight, or strength its all found in Him!
Let's stop trying to be creator of our own lives and allow the true Creator to do his business!
It's In Jesus!
