Now I know this scripture references a woman, however it is very applicable to all because the Church is known as the Bride of Christ (referencing us to woman compared to Him). It's not the fact of a woman as a gender but more so as a position remembering he is our headship! Now with a clearer understanding lets see how this scripture applies to all of us.
Psalm 127:1 states 'Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.' However, in todays text its a reference of the woman building her house?
There are two things happening in this text 1) a house being built and 2) a house being reared down, but only one of these references these directly to the person. A "foolish" person tears down their house with THEIR OWN HANDS!
See if Psalm 127 tells us unless the Lord builds the house it's builders build in vain then the wise person understands in order to build your home you NEED the Lord in the building of it! Whenever God is in it, the house will be built! But once we start trying to build it on our own and trust in our own strategizes, our own strength, our own understanding the WE tear down our own house!
Has God given you, what Rick Warren calls a Purpose that drives you in life, or what Matthew Barnett calls the Cause within you? What is it that God has placed in your life that he wants to build? If God is in it the house will be built! If you choose to do it on your own be prepared for a tearing down!
Just remember: Its Not About You!
