Proverbs 19:22 "Loyalty makes a person attractive. It is better to be poor than dishonest."
If loyalty makes a person attractive, then there is a whole lot of ugly people walking around us!
Catch that today! What does it mean to be attractive? Is it our looks? Our clothes? Our fancy homes or cars? No.
Attractiveness means to "ATTRACT". People will be attracted to loyalty. Who can I go to when I'm hurting? Who will be there in the hard times? Do I have a friend that really cares or say they do in front of me, but bash me to others. That's not loyalty and that's not attractive.
We associate ourselves with many people, but few of them are attractive; you won't go to them in times of need because they say they're with you, but only when its to their benefit. We allow ourselves to be led by the eyes of our flesh rather than the eyes of our spirit. You can have a pretty face and be an ugly person!
Ministry or Christianity sadly to say can be one of the most popular places of Ugly People. So many people declaring loyalty to the cross, to Christ, to the King of kings, but so easily get ensnared to the lust of the flesh, deserting all they declared loyal. Ugly. People who can stand on a stage and declare their loyalty to their church (His bride) and leaders only to get offended over nonsense and gossip in the back about the very loyalty they professed. Ugly.
Loyalty is work. Loyalty means that no matter what happens I'll still be here. Loyalty is taking the stand in saying "You can tell me anything bad you want about what I'm loyal to, but its still not going to move me", that's loyalty. When you are loyal - you are committed. Committed to the cause or the person. In your loyalty people will plant seeds of doubt, but loyalty plucks them out from taking root!
In a day of church hoppers and leadership haters; loyalty is something hard to come across but when you stick it in your mind that the church is not perfect and your leaders are human and have the belief knowing God called you there for a reason and its Christ you serve then you will be loyal no matter what. If you know God saved you and called you into a church even if the Pastor fell what would you do? Would you leave or would you stay? The easy thing to do is leave (many will do it) but if you are loyal and know God called you there then you will stay and God will use you in the recovery. And oh how attractive that will be to the King of kings!
Don't desert God. Don't desert His People. Quit talking about his bride (the church). Just learn to be loyal.
Make the choice not to be ... Ugly People!
